How to make Indian Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhni)

Marinate:

Marinating is a process that makes the chicken more tasty and ready for the Butter chicken recipe.
First, you need to wash the chicken with clean and fresh water. You can marinate it with lemon juice, salt, and chilli powder. You have to leave it for 20 minutes and then do the second round of marination.

For the second round of the marination, you have to add plain yogurt, turmeric, ginger, garlic paste, methi, oil, and garam masala.

You can marinate it for as much time as you have. If you have more time then leave it in the refrigerator overnight. If you don’t have time you can start cooking after 20 minutes of marination.

How to Grill Butter Chicken:

You can grill the chicken in the frying pan. Air frier, grilled pan, and even in the oven. You can heat it at 240 c for 15 minutes.

Put them in a greased tray and grill it for 20 to 30 minutes for both sides on the chicken pieces.

If you have a Tawa and you want to grill on it, you can fry it with only one tablespoon of butter. Do not overcook the pieces of chicken. Put Butter on the Tawa and add Chicken to it. Cook it until the chicken pieces turn soft.

You can cook it till all liquid in the pan gets dry and its color turns a little Golden.

Put the pan on the heat and add some butter, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom in it. During the melting of the butter, put the ginger and garlic paste and green chilies. Heat it till the smell fades away. You can fry them for 2 to 3 minutes depending on the heat.

Add the tomato mixture and put chilli powder, salt, and sugar as per your taste.

Cook it until it converts from liquid to thick mixture. While cooking make sure it does not overcook otherwise It will create a smell.

It’s time to add the water to the pan. Put 1 cup of the water and boil it. After boiling leave it below the boiling point for a few minutes. Where it will be cooked gently.

Put the chicken in the pan and cook it below the boiling point for 6 to 8 minutes. The time depends on the chicken’s softness. The softness may vary, depending on different conditions.
You can check the softness by the fork. If it is separable then it’s cooked perfectly.
While checking the softness of your meat, you must have to check the salt and other spices.

While you are checking spices add them if needed.

Now it’s time to add garam masala, methi powder. If the masala jat is not according to your desire, you can add more water. Water will normalize the curry if the spices are over-dosed.

If you have added extra water you can cook it further for 2 to 3 minutes. Now you have to add cream to it. The cream will be added after the liquid in the pan is about to dry off.

Here is another way to mix cream in it. You can take some curry from the pan and mix it well with the cream and then put it back to the pan. Keep in mind it should not be overcooked after adding the cream.

Congratulations! Your Butter chicken is ready to be served.

Now you can garnish the Butter Chicken with the cream and Coriander Leaf’s.

Butter Chicken Sauce is one of the major factors for a delicious Dish. This sauce is made of onion, crushed tomatoes, garlic, and ginger paste, and with few other spices.

The secret to making the perfect sauce is to cook the tomatoes for 15 minutes. You have to cook it until the liquid starts drying.

If the pan dries before the time you can add a little more water. After cooking it blend this mixture and add cream to the pan. Again, you have to mix with the cream.

If you want to increase the taste you can add more butter slices at the end.
